This is a marvelous vintage Murano glass lamp in the 'Hollywood Regency' style. The glass portion is about 8" across the widest part and 6 1/2" tall. The shape is rather like a flower bud, with a large rounded foot. It's primarily done in thick clear glass, with a berry-colored glass 'disk' (hexagonal, with a smooth top and wavy bottom) inserted into the glass near the top - plus there are six large leaf forms, tooled clear glass shot with gold, applied to the outside of the large 'flower bud'. The placement of the reddish glass disk, together with the shapes and textures of the leaves and the thick-walled 'bud' itself, results in the lamp having many different looks - depending on the angle(s) at which it is viewed. Overall, the lamp measures 20 1/2" tall. The glass portion rests on a thick, square brass base - 4 3/4" across - with four ball feet. There's a small brass cap up top, with a short brass neck above it, leading to the socket and harp. The aged white electrical cord is typical of those used in the 1950s and 1960s. Condition is excellent -- the glass has no chips, cracks, nicks, flakes, stains or other damage / problems. The harp has a dull finish, with most of its plating gone; there is also wear to the plating on the ball finial, and the socket may be a replacement - minor hardware issues on a GREAT period piece. Note that this is a heavy item, so shipping and insurance will be rather expensive - as detailed below in our TERMS section. For items that are to be shipped outside of the US AND have an eBay bid price of $250 or more, we will need to ship via the usually-more-expensive USPS EXPRESS MAIL method, in order to comply with PayPal's 'Seller Protection' requirements. This amount is NON-NEGOTIABLE; buyer must pay additional costs if any alternate means of transportation is desired/required, and that includes, at times, USPS within the lower 48. For example, items sent to PO boxes that we deem to be large, heavy &/or expensive WILL incur additional charges. We are willing to combine purchases and reduce overall shipping costs, but only when we determine it is safe to do so. Large, heavy &/or extremely fragile items often cannot be packaged together. Generally, we do NOT allow pick-up of eBay merchandise by local buyers. (Items designated 'Pick-up Only' excepted, of course.) Contact us BEFORE placing a bid if you wish us to consider a merchandise pick-up, and please be prepared to have us decline your request. For goods to be shipped to Hawaii, Alaska or outside the US, contact us prior to placing a bid to learn your SHI cost. DO NOT PAY EBAY's ESTIMATED SHIPPING COSTS! 4) REGARDING SHIPPING TIME: Our goal is to get your purchase shipped as soon as possible - though when we can ship depends on when we receive payment. Usually, our auctions close between 4 & 7 PM PACIFIC Time, and we set aside time early the following day to package and ship those items that sell. IF we have your domestic PayPal payment before 11 AM PACIFIC on the day following the auction's close, your merchandise will likely be sent on that day; International shipments may take a day or two longer. (There will be rare exceptions to this principle - such as storms, earthquakes, power outages, and so on; personal & family illnesses/emergencies; unusually high sales volume; other unforeseen circumstances - and in those instances we will ship as soon as it becomes possible for us to do so.) Electronic payments received (and eChecks that clear) after the 11 AM cutoff will typically see the relevant merchandise shipped within the next 2 business days; and, generally, the longer you take to make payment, the longer it will take us to schedule shipping. 5) INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: A) If your region or country is not on our 'Ship to' list, please contact us before placing a bid - to find out whether we will ship to you and, if so, to receive a quote for SHI. (Be advised that we will ship to HONG KONG, but nowhere else in China.) B) DO NOT PAY EBAY's ESTIMATED SHIPPING COSTS - THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS TOO LOW! Please wait for us to send you an invoice, which will include the correct SHI amount. C) All duties, tariffs, taxes, and/or other fees imposed by an international purchaser's Customs (or other government) Department(s) are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We will NEVER falsify Customs Documents - doing so is a crime, and so is ASKING us to do so! This transaction will typically be represented on the customs forms as a purchase of 'used merchandise', and it will be valued at your bid price. We will be happy to add to the paperwork any TRUTHFUL descriptions of your merchandise, when applicable, if they may help to mitigate your country's fees - such as 'antique', 'returning to country of origin', and so on. If you are aware of any such relevant and truthful descriptions, be sure to bring them to our attention when you make payment. AGAIN: PLEASE DON'T ASK US TO FALSIFY CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS - WE WILL NOT DO IT! THANKS FOR CONSIDERING OUR MERCHANDISE. WE APPRECIATE IT! YOU MAY CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR OTHER eBAY ITEMS.
