This listing is for a Huge Vintage / Antique Italian Brass and reverse painted glass / Art Glass base Cherub / Putti table lamp. The Glass bulb / base is decorated with six lace rose flowers adhered on the inner side against a gold field, all on an off white/ beige ground. The exterior is also decorated with frosting look wreath designs applied to exterior which in first view seems to be raised enamel type paint or maybe even some type of lace material dipped in paint and applied to the exterior of each rose medallion, but upon examination under magnification looks to be glass that is over applied to the exterior of the surface. A star design of such also decorates around the neck of the glass base, and more such decorations in form of circles around the very base of the glass base. The metal base and adornments all seem to be of high quality brass , maybe even Dore quality. The Putti / Cherub around the neck could be and probably are brass also but could be some brass painted metal. None of the metal except some of the hardware adheres to magnet. The mountings are also high quality cast brass 37 1/2 inches to the top of finial. base bulb diameter about 12 inches About 7 7/8 inches square at the very bottom of the brass base. Some paint flaking / loss on the very top and very bottom of the glass base on the interior. This could be original and or loss due to passage of time. Either way, its absolutely unnoticeable and not in view , with main glass body having excellent paint throughout , and what can be noticed really looks like it was done to look that way originally or did look that way originally. Please see the images. The top of the square base and the cylinder on top of the crown above the putti , shows oxidation and could use cleaning. The rest of the brass parts display minor oxidation and decent patina. I will leave cleaning and polishing to the new owner. The glass globe is a hand blown one. No lamp shade is included. The bottom was covered at one point with felt and is open now. Felt could be easily added to cover the base. Tested and it functions well with switch at socket working fine, it probably takes a 3 way light bulb but I only tested it with a one way bulb. The glass globe had residual wall paint fine splatter which has been thoroughly cleaned since photography. Quoted Shipping for lower 48 states .
