Offered for Sale is this Vintage 1950's - 1960's Mid Century Modern Desk Lamp, with a Night Light Base, in Very Good Condition! The shade is modern, custom made in white silk with black fabric trim. The lamp has a three-way switch, controlling the main bulb, and a small rear switch on the back of the base that turns on the small bulb located within the base. The effect is dramatic. You can turn on the base bulb, with the main bulb, or leave it off, only using the main bulb on one of three settings, or you can use the base light alone as a night light! The lamp stands about 28-1/4" from the base to the top of the finial. The white base is about 11-3/4" in height; then, a black plastic disk, topped by a brass-colored trim ring, then topped by the same size black plastic disk, then a brass-colored trim ring, then a black plastic disk, and then the base of the bulb holder. The harp measures about 8-1/2". The white plastic base appears to be acrylic, as are likely the black disks. The black stylized letter "s" is acrylic, and the two metal knobs are brass-colored. The shade measures roughly 10" by 10" by 12" in height. The shade is not vintage. There are discolorations to the brass-colored metal, from age. The two-prong non-polarized cord has discolored but is still sound. There are a few faint, faint shelfwear abrasions to the acrylic, but they're hardly noticable. The switches are crisp. This lamp would be the PERFECT accessory in any Mid Century Modern decor. The look is classic 1950's - 1960's. The shade alone cost a small fortune.
