This is a Vintage Mid Century Modern Electric Bamboo Table Lamp.This is such an interesting piece in that it looks like the lamp was hand made while the shade was store bought.This is a very rustic style lamp and a very old lamp though I do not know the age or who made the lamp.The Lamp is made of a surrounding layer of bamboo that has been nailed to an inner layer of what looks like pine.The board where the lamp socket is attached shows regular carpentry nails with genuine dings in the wood from the hammer blows.The socket and stem are loose and should be handled with care. The socket and harp are showing there age, they have a lot of tarnishing and rusting to the metal surface.The bamboo finial is cracked but stays put as long as the lamp stays upright.The electric cord is somewhat old and cracking but still serviceable.The Shade is very old but still in solid shape.The paper lining on the inside of the shade has a small tear or crack. This lamp would be spoiled without the shade.This lamp is a basic on off switch lamp.The base has no felt covering.This lamp stands at about 28 3/4 inches tall from the base to the top of the finial.The wood base of the lamp measures about 6 by 5 3/4 inches and is about 14 inches tall.The shades base measures 12 by 18 inches.The top of the shade measures 16 by 10 1/4 inches. The shades height is 13 1/4 inches.This is a really cool old lamp that should go to a home that has a rustic look to it or just has a lot of bamboo used in its design.This lamp will ship in two pieces because it is just to big to ship in one piece.If you are interested in this piece, why not make it part of your collection?
